City Harvest Bible Training Centre---------------------------IntroductionCity Harvest Bible Training Center (CHBTC) is a full-time Bible college started in 1994 with the purpose of training up potential pastors and missionaries to establish strong local churches in their own cities and nations. This purpose is specifically and practically spelt out in the Mission Statement of City Harvest Church: "To build churches with a strong spiritual atmosphere of faith and purity, where every member is released into ministry, discipled in the Great Commandment, to obey the Great Commission."
Working through the local churchGod will reach the world through the Church, so it is vital that every believer sees God's picture of the Church accurately. In the past, traditional Bible college training has been primarily conducted apart from the local assembly. Today, God is restoring to local churches their biblical mandate to become the prime discipling and training centers of His kingdom.
As students in the Bible college, you will be actively involved in the services of CHC and you will receive practical teaching about body life and ministry. The "live" example of a functioning church that grew to over 23,000 in 17 years will give you a powerful vision for your own ministry that will remain with you for the rest of your life. Upon graduating, you will be ready to be sent forth to establish strong churches all over Asia and the world.World missionsJesus said in the Great Commission: "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit (Matt 28:19)." In City Harvest Church, we take this command of Jesus very seriously. We believe that when Jesus said "all the nations," He literally meant the whole world!
In CHBTC, our aim is to inspire and encourage you toward world missions. Should opportunities arise, students are allowed to participate in mission trips even within your school year—with the permission from the Dean of Students. We believe and hold true to the call that we are destined to be missionaries for the sole purpose of preaching the gospel and getting the lost saved.
Church workGod is building strong churches all over the world. These churches are dependent on committed workers and members who pray and burn with a compassion for the lost. You will learn through effective discipleship how faithfulness and teamwork in a local church are vital prerequisites for revival to break forth in a nation.
Signs and wondersAt City Harvest Bible Training Center, you will be taught by teachers who move accurately in the gifts and minister the life of the Spirit effectively. You will constantly see manifestations of the Holy Spirit and miracles in prayer meetings, church services and special ministries to people in need.
Strong prayer lifeA vital part of Bible school life is a very strong emphasis on prayer. The subject is not only taught, but practiced as well. On-the-job training is a feature of CHBTC that enriches and empowers each student so they can impart to others what they have received.
Practical ministryLearn how to preach the Word of God in season and out of season. Be trained in the art of worship-leading and basic church administration. You will not only be taught the theoretical aspects of the ministry but you also will be constantly supervised on-the-job under the watchful eyes of your instructors.
